Frequently Asked Questions

The world of gas can be confusing but hopefully you will find the answer to your questions below.

If you still have questions or you want to talk through anything feel free to contact us.

If you really want to you can, but all we ask for is a 35% deposit at the time of booking, and full payment before you leave the centre on completion of your course.

We offer industry standard qualification in Domestic Gas, Hot Water and Energy Efficiency (Part L). All our courses are Cert-ain accredited. For more information click here.

We encourage everyone who’s interested to come along and meet the team, look around the facilities and have a chat about how we can work together to deliver your goals at a cost-effective price and in a timescale that allows you to work around other commitments.

We can run part-time; weekend or evening courses tailored to your needs. If you are a Cat 2 or Cat 3 candidate, the “off-the-job” training can take anything from 2 to 4 weeks in the centre; this will be supplemented by several weeks of “on-the-job” training with a Gas Safe Registered engineer to complete a portfolio of evidence of practical experience.

There is a Premier Inn less than half a mile away at very reasonable rates. We are willing to consider subsidising accommodation costs where necessary.

If your ACS certificates expire then you are removed from the Gas Safe Register and not allowed to work on Gas until you undertake your re-assessment.If your certificates have expired you are allowed to sit the Re-assessment up to 12 months after the expiry date.  If you allow more than 12 months to pass then you must undertake all of the Initial Assessments again.

Yes. You are allowed to take your re-assessment up to 6 months before the current one expires. Your new certificate will start from the expiry date of the current one, therefore you won’t lose out.

If you declare that you have special needs when you apply the centre will ensure that you get help and you may be allowed extra time if you have reading or writing problems. Please discuss individual needs and we will do our utmost to ensure you are not disadvantaged.

There is plenty of on-site parking as the centre is situated on a small industrial estate.

We’re happy to provide refreshments throughout the day and supply our candidates with lunch free of charge.

For bespoke training and domestic gas courses for Cat 2 and 3 candidates (for those who are seeking gas safe registration for the very first time) prices will be determined based on individual needs.

For renewal training, please call to discuss.
